STATESBORO, Ga. - Earning 44.8 percent of the vote in last week's poll, Eagle fans selected offensive Lineman Willie Maxwell as the Georgia 811 "Lineman of the Week".
The Jacksonville, Fla., native was a factor in Georgia Southern's potent rushing attack against fourth-ranked William and Mary helping the Eagle office amass more than 400 yards of rushing and recording 11 knockdowns. Maxwell's performance helped Georgia Southern improve to 9-4 on the season and advance to the third round of the FCS playoffs.
Eagle defensive lineman Terico Agnew (Stockbridge, Ga.) finished second in fan voting with 30.2 percent after recording a career best, three tackles and two sacks.
This marks the second time this season fans honored Maxwell as the Georgia 811 "Lineman of the Week". Maxwell tallied nine knockdowns in the Eagles 20-0 win over The Citadel on October 23, 2010.
