John Mulherin

John G. Mulherin currently serves at President of the Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation - the fund-raising arm of Eagle Athletics in Statesboro, Georgia. In that capacity, he is responsible for the day-to day operations of the organization which serves over 2,200 members and coordinates the activities of a 50-member, state-wide board of directors.
A native of Augusta, Ga., Mulherin has over 21 years fund-raising experience in the not-for-profit sector. Prior to his appointment with the Athletic Foundation 11 years ago, he worked with The United Way of the CSRA, University Health Care Foundation, the Metro Augusta Chamber of Commerce and Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity.
Mulherin has been active in many local and statewide charitable organizations and currently serves as chair of the Georgia Special Olympics - Area 13 Management Team. A former chair of the Bulloch County Chapter of the American Red Cross he also served as state-wide team leader for the Red Cross of Georgia's strategic planning initiative. He is also active in his church serving as a member of the Pastoral Council. John and his wife Debbie have two children, Clare and Patrick.
