Cox Hired for Game Operations Post

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department announced the hiring of Brandon Cox as Director of Game Operations effective immediately. Cox will oversee all aspects of game day management, from facilities preparation and staffing to coordination of officials. He returns to Georgia Southern after spending a year as a full-time intern with Clemson's IPTAY fundraising organization.
Cox served as the graduate assistant in the Eagle athletics operations office during the 2007-08 year while pursuing his master's of science degree in Sports Management. His responsibilities included the management and scheduling of student staff and game day preparation of facilities and breakdown after the conclusion of events. Cox also coordinated football program sales.
Earning additional experience as an intern in Clemson's IPTAY office in 2008-2009, Cox assisted with parking assignments for Tiger football and basketball games, handled responsibilities in the operation of the IPTAY Donor Rep program and performed administrative duties within the IPTAY office.
Following his graduation from Clemson in August 2006, Cox spent a year as a teacher and football and soccer coach in Anderson, S.C. He was involved with Tiger athletics as an undergraduate serving as a student athletic trainer, working and traveling with the Clemson football team and assisting with both the men's basketball and men's soccer teams.
