Ryan Whittington joins the Georgia Southern Athletics Department as the graduate assistant for Eagle Sports Marketing. Whittington has been a contributor to Eagle athletics after spending the last three years providing graphic design services for a variety of print and Web materials. Whittington's duties will include serving as public address announcer for Men's and Women's Basketball and overseeing the marketing and promotion efforts for Women's Volleyball and Softball. He will continue to provide graphic design services as well as the video board graphics and production at Paulson Stadium.
At the University of Mississippi, Whittington worked for Rebel Sports Marketing in the Ole Miss Athletic department. His duties included directing music for the men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball home games. For the last three years, he also served as public address announcer at Ole Miss baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball matches. Whittington directed the creative for the annual Ole Miss Diamond Girl calendar for 2006 and 2007 and through his own business enterprise, designed multiple media guide covers for Ole Miss Athletic Media Relations.
Ryan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism in May 2009 from the University of Mississippi and will be pursue a graduate degree in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University.
