ORLANDO, Fla. - The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) recognized Georgia Southern University Athletics Department as the recipients of the 2009 Bronze award for Radio Commercial. The award was presented on Friday (June 19) at the NACMA annual convention in Orlando.
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 13 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. A total of 700 entries were received for the 2008-09 year.
The football season ticket commercial featured play-by-play voice Chris Blair and head coach Chris Hatcher.
“I was very excited when first I heard that we were nominated for this very prestigious award and I was very proud and humbled by winning the 2009 Bronze award for Radio Commercial. This award is not an award for one department or for one person this award is shared by numerous people that have helped tremendously in this effort including: Sam Baker (Athletics Director), coach Chris Hatcher and Chris Blair. Without their guidance and help this award would not have been possible,” said Director of Eagle Sports Marketing Brent Jones.
NACMA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of athletics marketing administrators. NACMA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 44th year.
