Good Morning Eagle Fans!
It's been awhile since I've written here now that my spring sports have completed their seasons. Everyone in the office is busy working on fall sports and getting ready for a new season. But I wanted to drop a quick note to all our fans and let you know our first installment of a season highlight video is now up on the website!!
To access the video, click here or go to www.GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com and click on the FREE link in Eagle Vision. The video is called 2009 Georgia Southern Spring Sport Highlights.
We hope you enjoy the video and it gets you pumped about next season!
Everyone have a good summer...until next time...GO EAGLES!

Patrick Osterman back again for another edition of the blog, I think I've finally readjusted from Pacific time.
Needless to say it was a disappointing end to the 2009 baseball season, but once you get over that and look back at all that was accomplished that will certainly change your perspective. We did a lot of great things on the diamond this year, topped by another SoCon championship and 42 wins. I wouldn't be surprised to see CS Fullerton make a run at a national title, they looked good. I think Ryan Chambers and Matt Yogus would agree with me on this (after sitting in the Fullerton press box), we have a great setup at J.I. Clements Stadium.
The MLB draft started last night, so hopefully it will be a busy couple of days. After last year thinking Chris Shehan was going higher than he did I have officially stopped guessing on who is going to get picked by which round. We could have a few current Eagles selected and possibly some guys that have already signed get selected. Stay tuned.
I'll admit, one of the hardest parts about my job (outside of missing out on time with the wife and kids, that's first) is when you have a great group of seniors and you have to tell them good-bye once their career is over. I've been very fortunate over the years to have worked with some great seniors. This 2009 baseball group ranks right up there. They accomplished a lot on the field and did a great job representing Georgia Southern off the field. Each of the eight provided a lot of great memories, ones I'll never forget. For me it was a sad day on Sunday when we were traveling back from California because it was the last road trip I'd take with them. It's sad saying good-bye, but I was very fortunate to have the chance to get to know them. So seniors, thanks for making my job much, much easier.
Tuesday I took Cole Fountain and Lee Chapple up to Macon for the annual Peachstate Pigskin Preview. They and Coach Hatcher did another great job talking about Eagle Football. The event took place about three weeks earlier than last year but a record turnout for teams and media members. I was talking to other SIDs there in attendance and I think everyone agrees that the summer keeps getting shorter and shorter. There are some pictures on the website, check them out when you get a chance.
Don't forget, you can follow Eagle Athletics on Twitter (GSAthletics). We have some more ideas we'd like to implement for video, etc. in the near future so keep checking out the latest on the GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com site.
I hope everyone is starting to enjoy the summer. Go Eagles.
