Trumbo Named SoCon Field Athlete of Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Melanie Trumbo (Lilburn, Ga.) was honored by the Southern Conference office Thursday. Trumbo was named field athlete of the week for her performance in the GSU Invitational.

The Lilburn native finished second in the javelin throw with a mark of 32.47 meters. Her throw ranks third in the SoCon.

Trumbo also competed in the long jump and was slated to compete in the shot put before rain forced the remainder of the GSU Invitational to be canceled.

Track & Field will be back in action tomorrow at the Florida Relays.
