Track & Field Set to Compete in the Florida Relays

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern track & field team will compete in the Florida Relays starting Friday.
Georgia Southern is off to a fine start in outdoor competition and will look to continue it this weekend at the Florida Relays. The Eagles have posted the two top SoCon marks in the long jump and the second highest mark in the 100 meters.
The Eagles are coming off another solid performance at the GSU Invitational this weekend.
The Eagles won three events in the rain-shortened meet including the 1500 meter run, 100 meter dash and long jump.
Laura Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) narrowly missed tying the school record in the 1500 meter run. Fuller brought home the Eagles' first event win in the race with a time of 4:45.90. Fuller also finished third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.56.
Demetrise Anthony (Manchester, Ga.) gave the Eagles their second event win of the day in the 100 meter dash and finished with a time of 11.81.
The Florida Relays start Friday and will run through Saturday at James D. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
