Track & Field in Second Place through Day One of the SoCon Indoor Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. - Georgia
Southern finished second in the first day of action at the Southern Conference
Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday.
Lynndsey Hyter(Dallas, Texas)
got the Eagles started off on the right foot when she finished second in the 60
meter hurdles portion of the pentathlon. Hyter also picked up the Eagles' first-event win of the championships with a total score of 3551. She also won the
high jump with a mark of 5.97 meters.
Melanie Trumbo(Lilburn, Ga.)
finished first in the high jump portion of the pentathlon with a mark of 1.72
meters.
Courtney Ware(Indianapolis, Ind.)
came in first place in heat one of the 60 meter dash prelims.
Ashley Bush-Hardy(Fayetteville, Ga.)
had the fourth fastest time in the 400 meter dash prelims. She crossed the line
with a time of 57.73.
Kristin Olson(Senoia, Ga.)
qualified for the finals with the second fastest time of 8.98.
Melanie Trumbo(Lilburn, Ga.)
finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters.
