Jeremiah Parker begins his first year as a member of Rodney Hennon's coaching staff. Parker joins the coaching ranks as a student assistant following a successful four-year career.
Parker was a three-year starter, and turned in the best year of his career in 2008. He became one of 19 players in program history to record 60 runs scored/60 RBI, finishing with 60 runs and 70 RBI. Parker batted .326 with 18 doubles and 14 home runs.
In his career, Parker started 140 times in 164 games played. He knocked 45 doubles and 35 home runs for a career .581 slugging percentage and .316 batting average. Parker missed by three homers on joining the career ?Top 10' list.
He also put his name in the record books last year. In the SoCon Tournament, Parker tied a single-game record scoring five runs in the win over UNC Greensboro. Those five runs scored and 11 total bases tied a Southern Conference Tournament record, as did his two home runs ? a feat he accomplished twice in his career (vs. Elon in 2007).
A native of Carrollton, Parker is finishing his bachelor degree requirements.
