
Activities and Promotions Set for Homecoming Week 2009

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department will offer several activities and promotions during the current Homecoming Week 2009.
Activities begin with an Eagle Rally this Thursday (Nov. 12) and conclude with the 'BLUE OUT' of Furman on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 14). Reserved seat tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased by calling the ticket office at 1-800-GSU-WINS. Kickoff at Paulson Stadium for Saturday's game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Eagle Rally starts Thursday at 7 p.m. at Russell Union. Select coaches and players from Georgia Southern Athletics will be present to speak to the crowd.
Coach Hatcher and the football seniors will be in Friday's Homecoming Parade. The seniors will be riding a firetruck in the scheduled 4 p.m. parade. Both basketball teams will be in action Friday to start the 2009-10 season. The women tip off at 5 p.m. in Hanner Fieldhouse against Brewton-Parker and the men's team will follow at 7:30 p.m. against Reinhardt.
Saturday is full of events for fans and alumni both. Head women's basketball coach Rusty Cram and head men's basketball coach Charlton "C.Y." Young will be at the University Store from 10-11 a.m. Fans and alumni can meet both head coaches and have schedule posters signed.
Fans are asked to wear all blue in support of the fourth annual BLUE OUT against Furman at 2 p.m. Tickets for the game are still available, and the 2009 BLUE OUT t-shirts are for sale at the University Store.
The first 20,000 fans entering the games of Paulson Stadium will receive a free Verizon Wireless promotional item. Also don't miss Georgia Power at the Keep Bulloch Beautiful tent. Georgia Power will be distributing compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL) at the tent from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Homecoming King and Queen and their court will be announced at halftime of Saturday's game.
