Football Seniors Select "BLUE OUT" T-shirt for 2009

STATESBORO, Ga. - In the spirit of teamwork for the annual "BLUE OUT", Georgia Southern Athletics, The University Store and the Office of Licensing and Trademarks will unveil the design for the 2009 "BLUE OUT" T-shirt on Saturday, October 17th. During the first quarter of the game with Chattanooga, the official "BLUE OUT" T-shirt design will be displayed on the video board at Paulson Stadium. Immediately following the announcement, the "BLUE OUT" T-shirts will be available at The University Store's Stadium locations. The T-shirts sell for $10 exclusively at The University Store, at the University Store's Web site and at the Paulson Stadium locations on game days.
""It is always great for our team to put on our blue jerseys and play in front of our fans at home," said Coach Chris Hatcher. "Our alumni, our students and our fans unite for Homecoming and the "BLUE OUT" event is just as much a tribute to those who love the Eagles as it is a way to support our team. Each year, this tradition continues to build and it adds to the excitement to see our crowd decked out in blue."
Beginning a new tradition this year, the 2009 Football seniors were presented with three designs for the "BLUE OUT" T-shirt. In a majority vote, the seniors selected the winning design and it was put into production in time to be available for this weekend's game. The 2009 season marks the fourth year of the event with the "BLUE OUT" scheduled for the Homecoming game, November 14th vs. Furman. Kickoff for that game is set for 2 p.m.
"We appreciate the partnership between Athletics, The University Store and the Office of Licensing and Trademarks in making "BLUE OUT" not only a possibility, but a perennial success," said Brent Jones, director of Eagle Sports Marketing. "It's definitely about promoting our colors and school spirit, as well as creating an intimidating atmosphere for our opponent."
Located on the Georgia Southern campus on Georgia Avenue near Chandler Road, The University Store is open Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. through 7 p.m. and until 5 p.m on Fridays.
