Fans Vote for Your Eagle Athlete of the Week

The Georgia Southern Athletics Department will debut a new fan poll Tuesday, January 12 for Eagle Athlete of the Week. The poll will open every Tuesday for fan voting and close the following Monday of each week. The Athletic Media Relations Department will nominate the student athletes every week based on the previous week's athletic events. All statistics of the nominees are from those events only, not overall season statistics. Fans vote online at www.GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com and check back on Monday to see your winner. The poll is located on the lower left side of the homepage.
This week's nominees are:
Antonio Hanson, Jr, Fort Worth, TX - Men's Basketball
Hanson recorded a career-high 25 points against College of Charleston. He connected on five 3-pointers that game, had two assists and no turnovers in 32 minutes of play. In two games, Hanson averaged 21 points and one rebound.
J'Lisia Ogburn, Jr, Dublin, Ga. ? Women's Basketball
Against Davidson, the junior forward recorded her second double-double of the season and third in her career as she chipped in a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in 31 minutes of play. Against Wofford, the junior tied her career-high in points with 17. For both games combined Ogburn averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.
Courtney Martz, Jr, Woodbine, Ga. - Swimming and Diving
Martz helped the Georgia Southern swimming & diving team defeat Radford 236-54 at the FGCU Tri-Meet in Fort Meyers, Fla. Saturday. She finished 1st in the 50 yard freestyle, 3rd in the 100 backstroke and 4th in the 100 yard butterfly. Martz also was a member of the first place 200 yard freestyle relay team.
