Laurato, a four-year letterwinner for the Eagles from 2004-07, will assist with the infielders and hitting.
The 2004 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, Laurato ranks as one of the top players in school history. She is tied for second all-time in career games (240) and third in at bats (716), hits (190) and home runs (17) and fourth in RBI (96). In her rookie campaign she led the league in home runs (6), total bases (82) and slugging percentage (.485), earning her a spot on the All-SoCon Second Team. She followed that up with another all-conference nod in 2005, tied her career high with six homers in 2006 and was tabbed to the SoCon All-Tournament Team in 2007.
Laurato helped the Eagles to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2006 and a spot in the SoCon Tournament title game in 2007.
A native of Honolulu, Hawai'i, Laurato attended Isidore Newman School in New Orleans and graduated from Georgia Southern in 2007 with a degree in Marketing.
