STATESBORO, Ga. ? The allotment of tickets for Georgia Southern students to attend the Eagles' football season-opener at Georgia quickly sold out Friday afternoon (Aug. 22) at Hanner Fieldhouse. Nearly 2,000 tickets went on sale for student purchase.
Students started lining up at 2 p.m. to purchase a maximum of two tickets for the 17th-ranked Eagles' game against top-ranked Georgia.
“It's been a great day. Students are excited about going up to Georgia to see the Eagles play. It's been fun,” said Baker. “I give Brandy McNeal, our game operations director, a lot of credit of coming up with this plan with (Associate AD) Keith Roughton. The staff has jumped in and the students have done a great job of handling everything in line.
“We've had music on for them and the basketball team out there shooting... they've had air conditioning and stayed dry, that's very important,” stated Baker.
