Brant Berkstresser begins his sixth full year as
In addition, he carries an Assistant Athletics Director title. In conjunction with the University, he also works as a clinical instructor in the CAATE approved undergraduate athletic training program.
Berkstresser has presented on various athletic training topics at district and international symposiums affiliated with the College and University Sports Medicine Foundation.
His latest research project was assisting with the Department of Exercise Science in a study ?Physiological and Perceived Psychological Responses of Collegiate Football Athletes to Ventilated Shoulder Pads During a Scrimmage'. The project was presented to a national audience at the National Strength and Conditioning Association convention in July.
Under Berkstresser's tutelage numerous student athletic trainers have gone on to full-time positions, including Jeffie Trammell who interned with the New England Patriots during their run to the Super Bowl and Keitaro Abe, currently with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Derek Lawrence, a 2008 Master's level graduate athletic trainer is currently employed with D.C. United of the Major League Soccer.
