STATESBORO, Ga. ? Work has begun on replacing the turf at Paulson Stadium on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
Roger Inman, Director of Facilities, and Tifton Turf Farms began work following graduation on Saturday.
“The bermuda tift surface was pulled up over the weekend. The next step is re-grading the playing surface and re-crowning from 16 inches to a 10-inch crown,” said Inman. “Hopefully by next Wednesday we will have planted the new surface and it will already start growing in. We will use as much of the excavated turf as possible to improve the aesthetics around Paulson Stadium. We used 20 pallets of turf to build up the throws area at the soccer/track complex.”
