A two-time All-American selection for Georgia Southern College swim team. Born July 22, 1963 in Florence, South Carolina. Joined the Lady Eagles in 1981 and promptly qualified for the AIAW Division II National Championship in the 200- 500-yard freestyle. Also helped 200-, 400-, and 800-yard freestyle relay teams to national meet. Set or shared there records during freshman campaign 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relay marks that have never been broken. Was highly recruited out of Columbia (S.C) High School, earning all-state honors at six events.
