Played one season and sat out a year before returning to Statesboro for the 1977-78 season under coach Buddy Alexander... Born July 11, 1955 in Grand Rapids , Michigan ... Top season was senior year with four top 10 finishes... Earned medalists honors at the Cypress Gardens Invitational in the fall of 1977... Other notable performances include a 4th-place finish at the Pinehurst Invitational, a 5th-place finish at the Palmetto Invitational and a 10th-place standing at the Southern Intercollegiate... Was top Georgia Southern golfer at the 1978 North and South Amateur Tournament... Outstanding two-year career at Broward Community College ... Also captured titles of the 1984 J.C. Penney Classic and the 1990 Sazale Classic... Recorded two second-place finishes in 1990... Was runner-up at the U.S. Open and the Buick Open... Elected in the fall of 1987 to a four-year term as a Player Director on the PGA Tour's Policy Board.
