Anchored the GSU basketball team through one of its most successful periods, the late 1950's and early 60's. The seventh leading scorer in school history with 1,519 points, and the fifth-best per game average of 17.8. A two-time NAIA All-America selection-third team in 1959 and second team in 1960. Was instrumental in leading the Eagles to three consecutive NAIA playoff appearances from 1958 and 59. Was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985 for his successful high school career
