HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time All-Region performer... won the lowest ERA award his junior year at 1.43 to go with his 7-1 record... struck out 47 in 44 innings that year in addition to his impressive percentages in batting (.341), on-base (.480) and slugging (.591)... scored 26 runs and drove in 31 as a junior... hit .371 during his sophomore campaign and posted a 6-4 pitching record... earned team's 2003 ?Rookie of the Year' award... lettered four years in baseball and four in football... played for coaches Don Mims and Monte Nagel...
