On the southeast end of campus lies Georgia Southern’s state-of-the-art track & field complex, Eagle Field. Completed and dedicated in 2005, Eagle Field is the official home of GSU’s track & field team and is shared with both the men’s and women’s soccer teams.
The 400m, 8-lane track surface is made of Mondo, which is the same high-quality material used at the Olympic Games and the World Championships. The complex’s features include: two multi-directional long jump pits; a multi-directional 100m and hurdles track, two pole vault runways (one on the infield as well as one on the north side of the track); a javelin runway that extends off of the high jump apron; and a combination cage that encloses the hammer and discus rings, located adjacent to the shot put ring, that throws southeast.
