Enters senior year as one of the top defensive ends in the Southern Conference and could contend for All-America honors... excellent workout ethic as shown by earning All-America honors from the National Strength and Conditioning Association... in 34 career games Beard has 78 tackles, 13.5 for a loss and 5.5 sacks... JUNIOR (2007): First Team All-Southern Conference (coaches/media association)... opened his junior year with five tackles, including a 7-yard sack, against West Georgia... one stop at Coastal Carolina, two versus Chattanooga... recorded the first two fumble recoveries of his career, both in the same game against Western Carolina... recovered another fumble in the South Dakota State game, and this time returned it 29 yards for his first collegiate TD... those three fumble recoveries ranked him in a tie for fourth place among the GS season ?Top 10', two away from the record... at Elon he recorded a season-high six tackles and broke up two passes... in that game also matched his previous career total of 2.5 sacks, recording 2.5 of Scott Riddle... one tackle at Appalachian State, helping snap the Mountaineers' 30-game home win streak... four tackles and a
