Sara Mason joins Georgia Southern as the graduate assistant coach after
completing her undergraduate work at the University of San Diego.
Mason, a four-year player for the Toreros, was a three-time All-Conference award winner (2004, 2005, 2006). She was named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll for three consecutive years (2004-06) and was the 2006 Pacific Coast Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Mason was named a 2006 Academic All-American and 2006 Offensive Player of the Year, batting .341 and recording a team-high 10 doubles on the season. Defensively, Mason saw time at catcher, third base and in the outfield.
The Santa Rosa, Calif. native attended Montgomery High School as a member of the class of 2002. She was named to the All-Conference Team from 1999-02 and was the 2002 Co-MVP of her high school squad.
Mason received her bachelor of arts in sociology from USD in 2006.
