Eagles Open Indoor Track & Field Season

CLEMSON, S.C. ? The Georgia Southern track & field team opened the 2007-08 indoor season on Friday evening with a strong performance on the first day of the Clemson Opener.
Sophomore Demetrise Anthony had an impressive showing in the 60m preliminaries racing to a time of 7.75 good enough for 12th place. Lynndsey Hyter performed very well in her first collegiate meet as the freshman advanced to tomorrow's final in the long jump. Hyter sits in third place after a jump of 18'.8.00”. The Eagles did very well in the long jump as Dominique Thurman placed 10th on Friday evening.
Sophomore Jessica Irizarry came in sixth place in the weight throw. She finished the preliminary round with a toss of 50'2.00”
Georgia Southern concludes the Clemson Opener on Saturday morning. The second day of competition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
