An important member of the 1967 NAIA World Series baseball team, who later played professionally in the major leagues... Started at catcher for the Eagles... Signed a contract with the Cleveland Indians organization following his first season in Statesboro, but eventually found his way into the Boston Red Sox farm system... A major league stints with Boston (1972), Atlanta (1974-77) and Cincinnati (1978-80)... Appeared in 380 games, hitting 29 home runs and driving in 125 runs.
