Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame
A three-year regular on the Georgia Teachers College basketball squad (1949-52). Also pitched for the varsity baseball team during collegiate career. Born January 21, 1931 in Keokee, Virginia. Scored 983 career points from the guard position, helping the Professors to a 73-14 record. Advanced to professional baseball, then moved to the coaching profession. Currently serves as head golf coach at Vidalia High School, where the Indians have captured five Class A state championships. Recipient of the 1981 Dwight Keith Award, given annually by the Georgia Athletic Coaches. Association for lifetime achievement and outstanding contributions. Had the Vidalia High School Gymnasium named in his honor.
