Instrumental supporter... Credited with providing "dynamic" leadership, support and enthusiasm throughout the beginning and early years of the Georgia Southern football program... Along with then-President Dale Lick, spearheaded an active caravan tour and visited 22 Georgia communities to initiate interest in starting football at GSC... Considered a key element in the recruitment and subsequent hiring of Erk Russell in 1981... Personally built and contributed the Lupton Building beyond the west endzone of Paulson Stadium.
