Supporter/Former Southern Boosters Chairman... Responsible for the funding of the Bishop Fieldhouse at Paulson Stadium... Because of his generosity and support of Eagle Athletics, holds the distinction as the single largest contributor to the Georgia Southern Athletics Department... In addition to his generosity to Athletics, made numerous substantial donations to Georgia Southern in the College of Business Administration and Alumni Relations... Also a key contributor in the Alumni House and Visitors Center... Served two years as Chairman of the Southern Boosters... In 2003, named as Georgia Southern’s recipient of the Southern Conference Distinguished Service Award, recognizing individuals who have made a great impact on their respective institution... In 2000 was awarded by Georgia Southern the Honorary Doctor of Letters to honor his service, support and contributions... Presented by the Alumni Association in 1997 the ‘Friend of the University’ Award... recipient of the President's Medal in 2006... passed away in March 2011.
