A member of the Class of 1954 who was varied his support for Georgia Southern from athlete to student trainer to supporter. As executive vice president and general manager of Savannah's WJCL-TV, has been instrumental in television exposure received the Eagle football teams. Made the first live telecasts of Georgia Southern games and the weekly "Erk Russell Show" available throughout the Coastal Empire, as well as the state. Also produced and televised the "Frank Kerns Show" and the Chris Schenkel Golf Tournament. The exposure on WJCL was significant in developing support for the Eagle athletics and Georgia Southern University. Played one year of baseball as a freshman (1951), before choosing to become an athletic trainer for his last three years, Recipient of the "1991 Outstanding Alumnus Award" in the field of private enterprise. Has served as vice president of the Georgia Southern Foundation and president of the Letterman's Club.
