A four-year starter at Georgia Teachers College basketball squad (1956-60)... The second-leading scorer in school history with 2,008 points... Teams’ leading scorer in 1958, 1959 and 1960... Born March 10, 1937 in Wheelwright, Kentucky... Tallied 502 points (a Southern 20.1ppg average) and grabbed 135 rebounds in 25 games senior season... Scored 351 points as a freshman, the most-ever at that time... Also grabbed a career-best 204 rebounds in 1956... Recorded 638 points during his junior year... Held the record for consecutive free throws made in a season (31 in 1958-59)... Helped the Eagles to two NAIA national tournament appearances (1958 and 1958) during career... Also played varsity baseball for the Eagles... Passed away in July of 2013.
