STATESBORO, Ga. - Over the next week and a half we meet each of Eagles on the women's tennis team and learn a little bit more about each of the ladies. Next up is Paige Christian from Birmingham, England. During her sophomore campaign, Christian played in four matches (Savannah State, No. 13 Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and ULM) and was named to the Sun Belt Commissioner's List.

What do you enjoy most about playing tennis?
I love being able to work on my game to improve and develop my skills, along with enjoying the thrill from competing.

What age did you start playing tennis?
I first picked up a racket at the age of six.

When/why did you decide tennis was going to be your sport you concentrated on?
I played a lot of tennis and football (soccer) around the age of seven, however I enjoyed competing individually in tennis and decided to fully concentrate on tennis around the age of 10.

What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming season?
I am looking forward to seeing how my game improves and also seeing my team perform well this semester. I think that we are going to make a significant impact this year and improve our win ratio going into our Sunbelt conference tournament. More importantly I am looking forward to seeing the team progress deep into our Sunbelt conference tournament, if not winning it.

Who has had the greatest influence on your game?
I would have to say that my family has had the biggest influence in my tennis. I come from a very sporty family and I think that it is because of my brother that I am so sporty. If it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have gotten into tennis. Further into my development my parents coached me, and my aunt was my fitness trainer.

If you could meet anyone, past or present, who would it be?
Serena Williams and Muhammad Ali, I think that they are such inspirational people and athletes.

What do most people not know about you?
I hate to swim.
