STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern women's soccer team will play two exhibition games on the road this week to continue preparing for the upcoming 2016 season.
On Thursday, the Eagles will play Jacksonville University at 6 p.m. for their first outing of the season. The team then travels to Athens Georgia, and will face off against the University of Georgia on Sunday starting at 2 p.m.
"The biggest aspect of our exhibition games will be making sure the players have absorbed everything we have talked about, as well as being able to execute in different conditions than a practice scenario," said head coach
Brian Dunleavy. "The team is ready to play someone else and get after it with a new opponent other than each other."
Following the pre-season exhibitions, the Eagles will be home for five of their first seven matches starting with UNC Wilmington on Friday, August 19 to open the regular-season. The Eagles will then travel to Jacksonville Alabama, where they will take on Jacksonville State on Sunday, Aug. 21.
