STATESBORO, Ga.- The Georgia Southern women's soccer team signed four to the 2016 recruiting class this week. Two commits come from in-state, while the other two have experience playing internationally. The class includes two midfields, one forward and one goalkeeper who will join the squad.

NICOLE AUSSIN, Center Midfield, Alpharetta, Ga.Â

Aussin grew up in Georgia and played high school at Milton High School, where she was a four-year letter winner for the Eagles. She was named the team captain this year and became the first female freshman varsity starter in school history. Throughout the years, she's picked up club honors, participating in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) from ages 14-17 where her team won the U15 Southeast Region Championships. In addition, she was a part of the Georgia's Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2010-2014 and was a U.S. Soccer Fed National Training Centers Participant in 2012 and 2013.
MARCELA MONTOYA, Center Midfield, Medellin, Columbia

Montoya grew up in Medellin, Colombia, but played high school soccer at Cape Coral in Florida. As a Bulldog, she lettered each of her four years. During her senior season, she tallied 13 goals and six assists in her 17 games and was the leading scorer during the 2013-14 season. While at Cape Coral, her team collected three District Runner Up honors and won a District Championship in 2013-14. In addition to playing on the West Florida Club team, Montoya also gained experience on the U20 Colombian National Team and played in the Under 20 World Cup Qualifiers in Santos, Brazil.

FRIDA BRAATUM, Forward, Oslo, Norway

Braatum hails from Oslo, Norway where she played for the LYN Fotball Club for three years. In 2015, she was a part of the Norwegian Under 19 Championship team and was the winner of the Second Division in Norway with her previous team, Valerenga. At just 16 years old, she made her debut at the Toppserien level in soccer, the highest division for women in Norway.
LAUREN KARINSHAK, Goalkeeper, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Coming from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Karinshak earned lettered four years as goalkeeper at Wando High School under Shannon Champ. She is a two-time State Champion (2013, 2014) with her team and a winner of the 2015 Viking Cup Championships. As a member of the USA/MP 16 Premier I team, she picked up two other state champions in 2012 and 2015. She also set a tournament record in her age group at the 2014 Disney Showcase by picking up a shutout. Throughout her time on the club team under coach Kian Brownlee, her team was ranked first in the state and 27th in the Region 3 rankings.Â
