STATESBORO, Ga. – For the first time this season, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team competes back-to-back at home, playing Stetson on Tuesday after taking down Nicholls State 4-3 last Friday. These two matches are part of a four-match home stand for the Eagles at the Wallis Tennis Center that extends through March 13.
Â
Tuesday's matchup against the Hatters, who are 3-3 this spring, starts at 2 p.m. Georgia Southern and Stetson both have beaten South Carolina State this season—the Hatters with a 6-1 win and the Eagles with a 5-2 win. Other than that, the teams have faced different opponents this season. Â
Â
The Blue and White, now 6-3 overall and 2-1 in Statesboro, have had strong doubles play lately, winning five of the last seven doubles points, and look to continue that trend through Tuesday. Of those matches, the 1-0 lead helped them win four out of five matches. So far, the team has only lost one match when they have clinched the doubles point. Â
Â
After Stetson, Georgia Southern moves onto face Southern Miss and UNCG at home.
