ATHENS, GA. – Georgia Southern Swimming & Diving opened the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships in fourth place after three events at the end of day one.

What The Coaches SaidHead Coach Nate Kellogg"Overall, today was a solid first session. Emma winning 3-meter and setting a new school record was the highlight. Our relays were good and we're off to a good start. I think we are set up for great day tomorrow."
Diving Coach David Giambra"The divers dove great today. Emma (Weisel) came out strong winning prelims and then coming back in finals to put together a list that broke the school record as well as beat her nearest competitor by 30 points. Her last dive was the highest scoring dive of the contest scoring over 58 points."
"Hannah (Mudge) started her career great by securing 5th place. Hannah put together some fantastic dives throughout prelims and finals highlighted by a 50 point back one-and-a-half."
