Georgia Southern University Athletics

Nathan Kellogg has led the Georgia Southern swimming and diving program to one of its most successful eras in school history, and literally, the whole record book has been rewritten under his tenure. Georgia Southern swimmers have set 68 school records during the past 10 seasons.

He became the winningest coach in program history after the 2011-12 campaign and currently owns a 93-52-1 dual-meet record.

Along with a 9-3 dual-meet mark in the 2013-14 campaign, the Eagles placed third at the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships for the third consecutive season. Eleven school records fell in the CCSA meet, the Eagles had 10 all-conference performers and Kristen Bates recorded an NCAA B-cut time in the 100 Breaststroke. Georgia Southern finished No. 68 in the Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com's Mid-Major Rankings.

Georgia Southern's success continued in the classroom as the Eagles were named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team in both the fall and spring semesters. With the current Scholar All-America program in place since 2008, the Eagles have achieved CSCAA Scholar All-America status for every single semester.

In addition, Georgia Southern swimmers and divers have notched CCSA All-Academic Team accolades for achieving a grade point average of 3.2 or better 116 times since 2008.

The Eagles took third at the 2013 CCSA Championships behind nine podium spots. Kylee Parsons claimed a medal in three events (1650, 500 and 300 Free) while diver Sara Meisenhelder added two of her own in the one and three-meter dive. Meisenhelder qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships for the second straight year. The squad was also responsible for nine new school records of which eight were set at the Championships.

In 2011-12, the Eagles broke nine school records and finished third at the CCSA Championships. Meisenhelder was named CCSA Diver of the Year for her performances all year while placing second on both boards at the Championships. Bates (100 Breast) and Courtney Harrison (200 Breast) won individual titles while several other Eagles earned additional podium spots.

The 2010-11 squad broke the Eagles all-time record for most regular-season wins, earning 13 meet victories before placing fourth at the CCSA Championships. The team set three school records on its way to a fourth-place finish at the CCSA Championships. Three Eagles garnered a total of five all-conference selections based on their top-3 finishes at the championships. Outside of the pool Caroline Bevillard was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Women's At-Large Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bevillard was later named as one of only 13 recipients of a postgraduate scholarship awarded by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics.

The 2009-10 season was a memorable year for the Eagles both inside and outside the pool. The Eagles broke five school records while two Eagles gained attention outside of the pool. Courtney Martz earned CSCAA Scholar All-American honors, while Bevillard was named Georgia Southern Female Scholar Athlete of the year and was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women's at-large second team for District III.

The Eagles broke 17 school records during the 2008-2009 season and finished in third place at the CCSA Championships.

The 2007-08 season was one of the best for the Eagles. They registered the most wins in program history at that time with a 12-1 record, including a 9-1 conference mark. Kellogg's unit went a perfect 9-0 at the newly-constructed Aquatics Center at the Recreation Activities Center (RAC), broke five school records and earned a fourth-place finish at the first-ever CCSA Championships.

During the 2006-07 season, Kellogg led the Eagles to a 6-5 overall record to go along with a program best second place finish at the Northeastern Conference Championships. Mackenzie Garrot was named NEC Outstanding Rookie of the Meet after winning both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the NEC Championships. Eleven members of the swimming and diving program were selected to the All-NEC Team for their accomplishments in the pool, and six were named to the NEC Winter Academic Honor Roll in 2007 for maintaining a 3.2 GPA or better.

Kellogg originally came to Georgia Southern to serve as an assistant coach, but quickly moved up the coaching ranks serving as interim head coach for one season, before being named Georgia Southern's head coach in June 2005.

He is currently certified as a Water Safety Instructor and is a member of the College Swim Coach's Association of America (CSCAA), American Swim Coach's Association (ASCA) and USA Swimming.

Kellogg graduated from George Mason in May 2004 with a degree in communications and completed his master's degree in sport management from Georgia Southern in 2010.
