Freshman scores 580 on the air rifle to match Tori Lewis’ school record
CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 26 Georgia Southern opened the second half of the 2015-16 season on Saturday with a solid outing at SEARC 5 in Charleston. The Citadel hosted eight teams in the two-day meet at the Inouye Marksmanship Center which concludes on Sunday when the final teams take to the range.
Rosemary Kramer continued her fantastic freshman season by matching Tori Lewis' school record on the Air Rifle with a score of 580. Kathryn Youngblood and Tori Lewis set season highs on the air rifle with scores of 563 and 576, respectively while Courtney Weekley posted a personal best 536 on the small bore rifle.
"The team did a great job today, I'm very happy with the start to the second half of the year," said Head Coach Jim Riggs. "It has been two months since we competed against another team so it was great to get back out there. We've got three big meets coming up to close the regular season and I'm excited to see how we perform."
The Eagles finished third in the team standings behind NC State (4,650) and North Georgia (4,559). Georgia Southern topped both men's and women's squads from The Citadel.
