Eagles Ink 7 To National Letters Of Intent For Fall 2015

Statesboro, Ga. –  Georgia Southern Head Coach Brian Dunleavy announced Thursday the signing of 7 future Eagles to National Letters of Intent.  These newcomers will begin competing for the squad in the Fall 2015 season.   

"The 2015 class is one that we are really excited about; we feel that we were able to bring in players of a very high caliber," said Dunleavy.  "These seven student-athletes were heavily recruited by elite programs across the country, and we feel very fortunate to welcome them to Georgia Southern."

 Haley Tredway: Defender- Katy, TX -Challenge SC ECNL
 A 5'8" senior from Katy, Texas…Competes for the James E. Taylor High School Mustangs…4  year  letter winner…State Semi-Finalist in 2013 with 5 goals scored and 7 assists…2014 Bi-District  Champ, Area Champ…2013 Bi-District Champ, Area Champ, Regional Champ…2012 Bi District  Champ, Area Champ…Club team is Challenge SC under coach Chris Maravalli….Member of the  Elite Clubs National League.

 Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Haley is a strong center back, who reads the game well, tackles  hard, and is good in the air. She is composed on the ball, and has the ability to play long or shorts  passes with accuracy out of the back."

Taylor Wolpe: Goalkeeper - Phoenix, AZ- Sereno SC ECNL
 A 5'8" senior from Phoenix, Arizona…Competes for the Chaparral High School Firebirds under  coach Robyn Carlson…A 3 year letter winner…2013 All State – Second Team Member…  Nominated "Most Athletic" (2014-15)…2014 Team Captain…Started sophomore through senior  years…In Senior season conceded 3 goals while recording 6 shut out victories…Competes on the  Sereno 97 ECNL under coach Paul Taylor…2013 ECNL National Champions…ODP Regional  Champ 2010-2011…ODP State Team in 2009, 2011, 2013…2012-2013 Co-Captain (SC Del Sol  Soccer Club)

Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Taylor is a terrific athlete, she has a lot of potential, she's got a tremendous work ethic and her fitness level is very high for a goal keeper. Technically, she's very sound, she does a great job of holding onto the ball and doesn't give up a lot of rebounds."

Halle Huff: Forward - Atlanta, GA - Concorde Fire ECNL
 A 5'8" senior from Atlanta, Georgia…Competes for the Greater Atlanta Christian School Spartans  under coach Mike Guiliano…4 year letter winner…2014 scored 15 goals with 7 assists…2013  Gwinnett County Varsity Sports Fan Favorite of the Week Winner with 4 goals in a single game…  2014 State Champions…2013 State Runner-Ups…2012 State Champions…Plays for the GSA  Phoenix ECNL and Concorde Fire ECNL under coaches Campbell Chapman and James Harris…  2013 GSA U16 ECNL:  Top Drawer's Best ECNL Offense…2014-15 Concorde Fire ECNL U18:    Division Runner Ups…Scored 10 goals and had 8 assists in the 2014-15 Concorde Fire ECNL  U18.

Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Halle is a forward that has the ability to score in a variety of ways, she's got a great shot, so she is a threat to score from anywhere; she's physical and strong and that allows her to get on the ends of crosses. Halle also has that mental edge you want in a forward, she's always looking to get the ball in final third."

 A 5'6" senior from Marietta, Georgia…Competes for the Marietta High School Blue Devils…4 year  letter winner…Varsity Team MVP as a freshman, sophomore, and junior…2012 All County – 2nd  team…36 goals and 44 assists for Marietta High School in 3 seasons…Plays for the Concorde  Fire U-18 ECNL under coach James Harris…2nd place SE Region of ECNL U18.

 Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Ashton is an outside back that brings a lot of stability and  consistency because she's very difficult to beat in 1v1 situations. Also, her technical ability and  understanding of how to play the position will make her a threat to get forward. Ashton is a two  footed player who often plays left back even though she is naturally right footed."

 A 5'6" senior from Katy, Texas…Competes for Seven Lakes High School Spartans under Amy  Davis…4 year letter winner…2013-Team Offensive MVP…2014-District Champions and Regional  Finalists…1st Team All-District, 2nd team All-Region, Academic All-District, 2015 All Tournametn  Team…Team Captain…Also a 3 time letter winner in softball…Member of the Albion Hurricanes  FC playing under Dylan Glad…7th in the Nation ECNL in 2013…2012 State Champions Premier  League…2011 State Champions Premier League

Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Junique is the total package as a forward or attacking midfielder, she can play centrally or out wide. She's has pace, strength, and technical ability that causes defenders a lot of problems. Junique is a player that can change a game with her scoring ability and has the wherewithal to set her teammates up for scoring chances as well."

 Madeline Jones: Defender/Midfielder - Sarasota, FL - IMG Academy
 A 5'7" senior from Sarasota, Florida…Competes for the Pine View High School Python's…1 Year  letter winner…All-Area Honorable Mention 2011-2012…Only freshman to start every varsity  game…Only played high school soccer freshman year because of full year commitment to IMG  Academy sophomore-senior year….Played at IMG Academy under Matt Patton….IMG Captain  (2013-2015), Coaches Award (2014-U16), Day 2 Top Player for Disney Showcase by Top Drawer  Soccer (2015-U17), All Star Top-11 Player for Disney Showcase (2015-U17)….Club team ranked  5th in Florida (2014-U17)…IMG U19 State Cup Champions and regional finalists (2014, guest  played as a U17, assist on the winning goal in State Cup Championship).

 Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Madeline can play center back or defensive center midfield, her best attribute is her long passing; she can play the ball thirty to forty yards accurately. Defensively, she can win balls in the air, and has the ability to intercept passes, then attack out of the back. Her athleticism and skill make her very versatile."

 A 5'3" senior from Spring, Texas…Competes for the Klein Oak High School Panthers…3 year  letter winner…Served as Team Captain in 2014…Team Defensive MVP 2014, First Team All  District 2014 and 2013…Also competed in High School Volleyball…Regional Champions 2012…  Competes with Challenging 97 ECNL under coach Stuart Self.

 Coach Dunleavy's Thoughts: "Lauren is an outside back with excellent tactical awareness,  during the recruiting process, we never saw her get caught out of position. She can play on the  right or the left, and gets forward at the right moments, and we really like her poise in  possession."
