Bellissimo Earns ESPN Academic All-American Honor

TOWSON, Md. – Georgia Southern volleyball player Moriah Bellissimo was named Second Team ESPN Academic All-American for District III as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America last week.

The Blackstone, Va., native boasts a 4.00 GPA as a nutrition/food science major.

“Mo is what every coach wants in a student athlete,” Eagle head coach
Chad Callihan noted. “She works diligently in the classroom and passionately on the court and I am glad she is being recognized for her efforts.”

A 5-9 middle hitter, Bellissimo ranks third on the Eagle volleyball team in digs (2.50) and fourth in kills (1.94). So far this season, she has recorded seven double-doubles, including back-to-back matches versus Southern Miss (Sept. 3) and Duke (Sept. 4) at the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Bash in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
