Season Tickets for 2009 Volleyball Available Now

STATESBORO, GA – Season tickets for the 2009 volleyball season are on sale now through the Georgia Southern Athletics Ticket Office. Don’t miss any of the action as second-year head coach Chad Callihan and the Eagles make a run for the 2009 Southern Conference Championship.

Season tickets include all nine home matches and admission to both tournaments hosted by the Eagles for the season. Fans can choose from a single season pass for just $15 or a package for two adults and two children for only $35. Single game admission is $5 for an adult and $1 for children.

Exciting promotions for all home contests begin with the home-opening weekend for the Eagles when they host the Holiday Inn Invitational August 28-29. The volleyball team opens competition on Friday, August 28th at 7 p.m. versus Presbyterian. On Saturday, August 29th, Domino’s will offer free slices of pizza to the first 50 fans to the Stetson match at noon. Later that evening the ‘Volleyball Tailgate Presented by GSU Athletic Foundation’ will take place at 5 p.m. The tailgate is free for all fans in the lobby of Hanner Fieldhouse prior to the 7 p.m. match.

Georgia Southern will welcome Auburn, Coastal Carolina and Wake Forest to town for the ‘Bash in the Boro, September 11-12. For the Eagles’ Auburn match September 11 at 7 p.m., Chick-fil-A will give away Chick-fil-A sandwiches to the first 50 fans. All groups who attend the September 12th contest against Coastal Carolina at 12 p.m. will receive free admission and that same night, all Bulloch County students and teachers will have the opportunity to attend the Wake Forest match at 7 p.m. for free.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Board Day has been set for the October 6th contest against North Florida at 7 p.m. when the Eagle Volleyball team will welcome all student-athletes to Hanner Fieldhouse.

The Eagles will open the 2009 Southern Conference season on Friday, October 9th with The Citadel at 7 p.m. All Georgia Southern faculty and staff will be admitted to the match for just $1 with their Georgia Southern ID. Girl Scout Appreciation Day highlights the October 10th contest against College of Charleston at 2 p.m. All troops in attendance to the match will have the opportunity to take part in a volleyball clinic following the match. The following Tuesday, October 13, fans are asked to wear pink for the ‘Dig Pink Match’ against Davidson at 6 p.m. This second annual event helps bring awareness and research to breast cancer. Junior Eagle Club members will enjoy free admission, invitation to an ice cream social with GUS before the match sponsored by Bruster’s and a carnival hosted by the Eagle volleyball team following the Appalachian State match at 2 p.m. on October 24. 

Subway will supply sandwiches to the first 50 fans who enter the conference match against Western Carolina on October 25 at 2 p.m. The first 50 fans who attend the October 30th game against Furman at 7 p.m. will receive a free promotional item courtesy of Verizon Wireless. As the Eagles face Wofford at 7 p.m. on Halloween night, all fans wearing a costume will get in free to the match.

A full week of activities leads up to Homecoming 2009 including the Georgia Southern football game against Furman. November 14th has been designated ‘BLUE OUT’ for both the football game and the volleyball match at 7 p.m. against Samford. All fans who present a Furman football ticket at the volleyball match that evening will be admitted free.

October 31 – All fans wearing a Halloween costume receive free admission
November 14 – On Senior Day and ‘BLUE OUT’ all fans with a Furman football ticket gain free entry
