Eagles Set Personal Bests at Day One of Hilton Garden Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three athletes on the Georgia Southern Track and Field team posted personal bests on day one of the Hilton Garden Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dana Edwards posted a personal best score of 3043 (ninth place) in the Pentathlon, improving her previous score by more than 300 points. The junior had not competed in a pentathlon before until this year but already established herself in the Georgia Southern history today, claiming the fifth spot with her results today.
The second personal best of the day came from Alyssa Felton, finishing the 60m Dash in 16thplace with a time of 7.80. Deanna Edwards also improved her personal best in the 400m Run to 1:01.48, finishing 42nd.
Other Eagles competed in the 60m Dash and 400m Run as well, along with Triple Jump and 5000m Run. For full Eagle results see below.
The Eagles continue competition tomorrow with the 60m Hurdles, Shot Put and Long Jump at 10 a.m. and will finish the day with the 4x400m Relay at 7:10 p.m.
