Women?s Tennis Finishes up the Second Day of the UNF Invitational

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Georgia Southern Women’s Tennis team finished up the second day of the UNF Invitational.

 

Jessica Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) lost 6-2, 6-3 to Megan Jones from FIU in the B draw of singles.

 

Also in the B draw of singles, Molly Maddox (Rome, Ga.) defeated Ina Durcakova from UNF 6-1, 6-4, but then lost 6-4, 6-3 to Maria Pazo in the quarterfinal round.

 

Melanie Rolle (Gainesville, Fla.) won rain-suspended match 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-3 over Lindsey Mallory from Samford. Rolle then faced off against Marietta Bigus from Middle Tennessee State and won 6-3, 6-0. Rolle lost in the semifinals to Mirte Debakker 6-3, 6-2.

 

In the C draw of singles, Emma Knight (Duluth, Ga.) defeated Anna Djananova from MTSU 5-0, default. Knight then faced Stephanie Parkison from Samford in the Semifinals. Parkison won the match 6-0, 6-2.

 

Shea Huxtable (Winter Springs, Ga.) lost to Leonie Giujt from Troy in the C draw of singles 6-1, 6-1.

 

Christine Caforio (Acworth, Ga.) defeated Jacqueline Faulk from Stetson 6-2, 6-2 in her first match of the tournament, but she lost her second match to Fernanda Carrero from Jacksonville 6-7 (5), 6-3, 10-4.

 

In the A draw consolation, Kristi Kegerreis (Fairfax, Va.) defeated Eva Hankova 6-0, 6-2.

 

No doubles matches were play Saturday due to the rain.

 

The Lady Eagles will wrap the UNF Invitational Sunday.
