Women's Tennis Continues the Brevard Mountain Invitational
In B doubles Jessica Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) and Kristi Kegerreis (Fairfax, Va.) defeated a North Georgia team of Velina Boteva and Maria Dreaden, 8-1. Fuller and Keggerreis advance to the finals where they will take on Julian Reyes and Madeleine Billeter, from Pfeiffer.
Molly Maddox (Rome, Ga.) and Shea Huxtable (Winter Springs, Fla.) had a bye in A doubles and will play in the finals tomorrow at 10:00 am versus Amanda Bartlett and Elizabeth Sneed from Carson-Newman.
In the A flight of singles, Maddox defeated Veronica Cardenas from West Virginia 6-1, 7-6 (4). She then faced Jenny Gomez from Gardner-Webb, but lost to her 6-2, 6-2.
Kegerreis defeated Schaefer 6-2, 6-0 and advanced to the next round, where she faced Ashley Renee Pilsbury from West Virginia.
Kristi won that match 6-2, 6-2 and advances to the finals tomorrow where she will face Gomez from Gardner-Webb.
Huxtable lost to Amy Beavers from Gardner-Webb 6-2, 6-3, 11-9.
Caforio defeated Catherine Thomas from Pfeiffer 6-2, 6-0. She then went on to defeat Velina Boteva from North Georgia 6-0, 6-2.
Christine will play tommorrow in the finals at 11:30 against Snead from Carson-Newman.
In the C flight of singles Fuller defeated Gabriela Blaskovicova from West Virginia 6-3, 7-5 and Black from Gardner-Webb 4-6, 6-0, 10-2.
Jessica will play tomorrow in the finals at 11:30 am.
Knight won 2-3, default over Kasey Ellis from Gardner-Webb. She then went on to face Monique Burton from West Virgina, but lost 6-3, 6-1, 10-5.
The Women's Tennis team will conclude the Brevard Mountain Invitational tomorrow.
