Women?s Tennis Wraps up Landings Club Invitational

Savannah, Ga. - The Georgia Southern women’s tennis team completed the Landings Club Invitational on Sunday.

 

Kristi Kegerreis (Fairfax, Va.) won her second match against Marie Demerath from Eastern Washington 6-2, 6-2, but then lost to Sandra Herrera from Winthrop 6-3, 6-1.

 

Jessica Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) lost her second match to Aline Berkenbrock from North Flordia 6-2, 6-2.

 

In doubles action, Emma Knight (Duluth, Ga.) and Shea Huxtable (Winter Springs, Fla.) won their second match against Georgia Southern’s own Melanie Rolle (Gainesville, Fla.) and Christine Caforio (Acworth, Ga.).

 

Knight and Huxtable then faced Marie Demerath and Amanda Mankovits from Eastern Washington in the semifinals of the consolation bracket and lost 8-3.

 

Ali Beavers (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Molly Maddox (Rome, Ga.) lost their second match of the Invitational to Demerath and Mankovits 8-2.

 

The Lady Eagles have wrapped up their fall tournament schedule and will start their dual meets at Georgia State January 24th at 1:00 p.m.
