Eagles Travel to North Florida for UNF Invitational
“We are excited about getting back into competition this weekend after having a few weeks off since our first fall tournament,” said head coach Amy Bonner. “This tournament is always competitive with difficult teams, so it will be a good test for the team. We are looking forward to a fun and challenging weekend.”
A total of 12 women’s teams will compete in the fall tournament including: Alabama-Birmingham, Bethune-Cookman, Central Florida, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Indiana University, Jacksonville University, North Florida, Samford, Troy and USC Upstate.
The tournament format will be flighted A/B/C singles draws, as well as flighted A/B doubles draws. The first round of doubles action will open the tournament on Friday at 8 a.m. followed by the first round of singles action beginning at 10:45 a.m.
The 2009 UNF Fall Invitational, sponsored by Hampton Inn 9A & Baymeadows, will be played Friday-Saturday at the UNF Tennis Center, located on the campus of University of North Florida. Matches will also be played at the FCCJ Tennis Courts, if needed.
