Quarter Finals at ITA Southeast Regional in Athens

ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women’s tennis team finished up in the Quarter Finals today at the ITA Southeast Regional.

Sophomore Ali Beavers (Kingsport, Tenn.) played Stephanie Viera (Troy) and won (7-6(5) 6-4).  She also played Natalie Mayuk (Mississippi State) in the Semi-finals of the “B” draw and lost (6-4 6-7(5) 11-9).

“We did really well and were almost in the finals,” said head coach Amy Bonner. “Ali had a great tournament.”

Georgia Southern women’s tennis team will start play next Friday for the Landings Club Tour in Savannah.  Matches start at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning.  This entire team will be participating in this event.
