Women?s Tennis Completes Day One of the Landings Club Invitational
Savannah, Ga. The Georgia Southern women’s tennis team finished day one of the Landings Club Invitational.
In singles action Kristi Kegerreis (Fairfax, Va.) lost to Alisa Kagukina from Armstrong Atlantic 6-3 3-6 6-2, and Jessica Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) lost to Wi Ching Chen from Auburn Montgomery 6-2 6-0.
In doubles Christine Caforio (Acworth, Ga.) and Melanie Rolle (Gainesville, Fla.) defeated Lisa Wilkinson and Sandra Herrera from Winthrop 8-5.Caforio and Rolle then faced Martina Beckman and Alida Muller-Wehlau from Armstrong Atlantic and Lost 8-2.
Shea Huxtable (Winter Springs, Fla.) and Emma Knight (Duluth, Ga.) lost 8-4 to Eastern Washington’s Amanda Mankovits and Zimmerac.
Molly Maddox (Rome, Ga.) and Ali Beavers (Kingsport, Tenn.) lost 8-1 to Sona Novakova and Gabriella Kovacs from Armstrong Atlantic.
The Lady Eagles will continue play in the consolidation bracket Saturday in Savannah, Ga.
