The Swimming and Diving Team Completes the Second Day of Competition at the Davidson Inviational

The Georgia Southern swimming and diving team kicked off the second day of competiton at the Davidson Invitational Saturday with a third place finish in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay.

 

Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.), Ali Campbell (Alberta, Canada), Jordyn Pasley (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Katelyn Woolfolk (Satellite Beach, Fla.) swam the relay in a time of 1:38.40.

 

The Lady Eagles also finished third in the 400 yard Medley Relay with a time of 4:01.89.

 

"We had a very good prelims session and a solid finals session today, both in the water and on the boards,” said head coach Nathan Kellogg.  “This team has oustanding attitudes and, most importantly, we are racing well as a team.  We are exactly where we need to be in November."

 

Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio) had a great day finishing second in the 200 yard  Butterfly, third in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:34.57 and was a member of the 400 Medley Relay team that finished in third place.

 

Campbell finished third in the 200 yard Freestyle with a time of 1:55.87.

 

Ashley White (Charlotte, N.C.) gave the Lady Eagles another top three finish in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a mark of 1:06.66.

 

Martz swam the 50 yard Freestyle in a time of 24:42 for a third place finish. The Junior swimmer also competed in the 100 yard Backstroke and finished fifth with a time of 59.54.

 

Lindsay Goodman (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished right behind Martz in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:00.12. Kristin Butts (Woodstock, Ga.) placed 8th in the event with a time of 1:09.41.

 

In the diving portion of the competition, Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) placed sixth with a mark of 174.95 and Nikki Hutchison (Kennesaw, Ga.) placed eighth in the 3-Meter Diving event.

The Lady Eagles continue the Davidson Invitational tomorrow in Davidson, N.C.
