Martz Breaks CCSA Chamionship Time in the 50 Free

ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia Southern swimming and diving wrapped up day one of the CCSA Championships with a solid performance.

The Eagles are currently in fourth with a team score of 113. Florida Gulf Coast leads with 298 points.

Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) broke the CCSA Championships record time in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.61. She followed that up with an even better time in the finals. She finished fourth with a time of 23.60.

Georgia Southern's 200 free relay team finished third Thursday in the first event of the CCSA Championships. The Eagles surpassed last season's time of 1:35.65.

Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) advanced to the finals of the 1-meter dive. She finished fourth with a mark of 225.10.

Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio) won the 200 yard IM consolidation with a time of 2:07.12.

The CCSA Championships continue tomorrow at 10 a.m. and run through Saturday.
